Whether it be a birthday, wedding, shower, holiday, or "just because," I have often found it a struggle to find "just the right gift" for a friend or loved one. Internet shopping opened up a whole new world for me, and I discovered that there is a lot "out there" that is not available in the stores that are conveniently located. I have always made it a practice to gift the gifts I would love to receive, and the items I am suggesting are things that I often purchased in duplicate - one for my gift recipient, and one for me!

| I love monogrammed stationary and note cards! A fun alternative, though, is giving a personalized embosser. The one pictured left is just a small example of what is available. The Stationary Studio is one of my favorite websites and it has just the thing to suit anyone's taste or needs, whether it reflects a return name and address, or whether it just adds a monogram. Embossing the top of plain stationary, or the flap of an envelope gives a touch of class and elegance to all correspondence, and saves money in the long run. I also purchased an embosser for my daughter when she was getting married. Her wedding symbol was the fleur de lis, and we embossed everything from the place cards to the formal menus to the wedding programs. This added consistency to the theme of her wedding. The fleur de lis (flower of the lily) is a French symbol meaning peace and purity. It is also said to represent the iris, which is my favorite flower! I have given monogrammed candles on more than one occasion. Of course, I also have them in my home! They come beautifully boxed, and they are always greatly appreciated.
This (above) is my all-time favorite monogrammed candle. I have it in the Bamboo Birch scent, and it fills a small room with scent - even without burning it. I have given it many times as a gift - and it is one I am always proud to give! Monogrammed soaps are a great touch to guest bathrooms. It might not be something I would buy for myself, but what a wonderful hostess gift. I love giving them, and the personalization shows that you were thinking of your special person well in advance.
