The Dieter's Friend
No Dairy Smoothie
- 1 banana
- 1/2 c. strawberries, frozen
- 1 c. water
- 2 T. pineapple juice
- 2 T. orange juice
- Splenda or honey for sweetening
Blend all ingredients in smoothie maker until smooth.
Orange & Banana Smoothie
- 1 banana, cut into chunks
- 1 large orange, peeled and seeded
- 2 c. vanilla-flavored soy milk
- 1 t. ginger
Add all the ingredients in a smoothie maker and blend until smooth
Rice and Fig Smoothie
- 1 oz. dried figs
- 1 oz. cooked rice (Japanese is best)
- 6 oz. soy milk
- pinch cinnamon
- 2 T. molasses
- ice cubes
- strawberries for garnish
Place the figs, rice, soy milk, cinnamon, ice and molasses in a smoothie maker, and blend until smooth. Pour into serving glasses and garnish wirh fresh strawberries.
Summer Strawberrie Smoothie
- 8 strawberries, hulled
- 1/2 c. skim milk
- 1/2 c. plain yogurt
- 3 T. sugar or Splenda
- 2 t. vanilla extracr
- 6 ice cubes
Place all ingredients in smoothie maker and blend until creamy.
Sunny California Smoothie
- 8 large strawberries, hulled
- 1 banana
- 1/2 c. 8 oz. lemon yogurt
- 1/3 c. cold orange juice
Place the strawberries in a plastic bowl and freeze for one hour. Then, place he strawberries in the smoothie maker along with the yogurt and orange juice. Blend until creamy.
Peachy Apricot Smoothie
- 5 1/2 oz. canned apricot nectar
- 1 banana, cut into chunks and frozen
- 1 c. fat-free vanilla yogurt
- 2 c. fresh or frozen unsweetened peaches, sliced
- 1 T. lemon juice
- 1 T. honey
- 1 t. grated lemon peel
- 5-6 ice cubes
In a smoothie maker, mix all the ingredients until smooth.
