The Dieter's Friend
Blast from the Past Smoothie
- 2 bananas
- 1 c. skim milk
- 1/4 c. water
- 2 T. brown sugar
- 6-8 ice cubes
Blend the bananas and milk in the smoothie maker. Press the pulse button to chop the bananas, adding in water and brown sugar. Blend until smooth. Add the ice cubes, again blending until smooth. Pour into serving glasses.
Cantaloupe and Berry Smoothie
- 1/2 cantaloupe, peeled, seeded and cut into chunks
- 1/2 c. plain yogurt
- 1 c. frozen raspberries
- 3 T. white sugar or Splenda
Blend all the ingredients until smooth.
Chocolate Cherry Smoothie
3 frozen bananas, cut into chunks
- 2 c. frozen dark, sweet cherries2 c. chocolate soy milk
Add the ingredients to a smoothie maker and blend until smootCh.
Chocolate Strawberry Banana Smoothie
- 1 c. skim milk
- 1/2 c. frozen, unsweetened strawberries
- 1/2 c. banana
- 2 T. powdered chocolate drink mix
- 1/2 t. vanilla extract
- 2 t. sugar or Splenda
Blend all ingredients until smooth. Pour into serving glasses and garnish wirh additional strawberries.
Fresh Fruit Smoothie
1 c. strawberries, hulled
- 1/3 c. frozen blueberries
- 2 bananas, cut into chunks
- 1/2 c. orange juice
- 1 1/2 c. plain yogurt
1 T. soy milk powder
Blend all ingredients in a smoothie maker until creamy and smooth.
Frosty Fruity Smoothie
- 1 banana, peeled and cut into chunks
- c. juice (orane, pineapple, grape or apple), chilled
Blend all the ingredients untl smooth.
Good For You Smoothie
- 1 nectarine, pitted
- 3/4 c. strawberries, hulled
- 3/4 c. vlueberries, rinsed and drained
- 1/3 c. nonfat dry milk powder
- 1 c. ice
Place all ingredienrs in a smoothie maker, and blend until smooth.
Mixed Fruit Smoothie
- 2 bananas, chilled
- 2/3 c. fresh strawberries or mangos, sliced
- 12 oz. juice (grape, mango, strawberry, or apricot - chilled)
- 8 oz. fat-free yogurt (vanilla or plain)
- 1 T. honey
- 2 T. pistachio nuts, ground
Combine bananas, strawberries or mango slices, fruit juice, yogurt and honey in smoothie maker. Blend until smooth. Pour into six chilled glasses and sprinkle with crushed pistachio nuts.
