These smoothie recipes are dedicated to those who are looking for a sweet, low-cal treat that is low in fat grams. Enjoy...


Almond Joy Smoothie

  • 1/4 c. frozen yogurt (your choice of flavor)
  • 1/2 t. almonds, crushed
  • 1/2 t. vanilla extract
  • 1 t. unsweeened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 t. coconut flakes
  • 1 peach, diced
  • Nuts, oatmeal, or wheat germ to taste

Add all the ingredients except the nuts, oatmeal, or wheat germ in the smoothie maker, blending until thick and smooth. With a spoon, add in your choice of nuts (almonds work best), oatmeal, or wheat germ for a nice nutty taste.


Banana Blast Smoothie

  • 1 banana, cut into chunks and frozen
  • 1/2 t. vanilla extracr
  • 1 c. skim milk
  • 2 c. crushed ice
  • Dash nutmeg

Place all the ingrediens into the smoothie machine, excluding the nutmeg. Blend the mixture until smooth. Pour into glasses and sprinkle wih nutmeg.


Banana and Orange Swirls

  • 2 frozen bananas, cut into chunks
  • 1 orange, peeled, segmented, and seeded
  • 8 oz. raspberry yogurt
  • 1 1/2 T. honey
  • 1/2 t. ground nutmeg

Add all the ingrediens in the smoothie machine and blend until creamy.


 

Banana Raspberry Smoothie

  • 1 banana, cut into chunks and frozen
  • 1 c. frozen raspberries
  • 3/4 c. orange juice
  • 1/4 c. vanilla yogurt

Blend all the ingrediens until creamy.


Berry Banana Smoothie

  • 1 banana, cut into chunks and frozen
  • 1/4 c. fresh or frozen assorted berries (blackberries, strawberries and/or raspberries)
  • 3 c. low-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 1 c. orange juice
  • Fresh mint
  • Fresh berries

In the smoothie maker, add the banana pieces, berries, orange juice, and yogurt. Cover and blend until smooth. Pour into glawses and garnish with both min and extra berries.


Berry Surprise Smoothie

 

  • 1 c. strawberries
  • 1 c. pineapple chunks
  • 1/2 c. raspberries
  • 2 T. frozen limeage concentrate, thawed

Blend all the ingredients in a smoothie maker until smooth. Pour into chilled glasses and serce.


Better Than Basic Smoothie

  • 11 oz. mandarin oranges, frozen
  • 1 banana, cut into chunks and frozen
  • 1 Gala apple, peeled, cored, cut into chunks, and frozen
  • 12 oz. tofu
  • 1 c. orange juice

Mix all the ingredients in a smoothie maker until smooth.
